CONTROLS ON MOVEMENTS OF FISH FOODSTUFFS IN THE YORKSHIRE RIVER OUSE DESIGNATED AREA – NO 2/2006

Controls were placed on the movement of fish feed from farms within the Yorkshire Ouse catchment, during the initial phase of our investigations, by means of 30 day Notices issued on 26 May 2006. These controls were removed, following the issue of the current Designated Area Order covering the Ouse and Don catchments, as evidence from farm inspections suggested that all farms in the catchment were free from clinical signs of VHS.

As a result, movements of fish foodstuffs to, from and within the River Ouse catchment are now permitted without the requirement for written consent.

Please ensure that all fish foodstuffs are transported in sealed bags/containers and that good biosecurity practices are followed when making such movements. Further advise on biosecurity and disinfection can be found here
