Fish Health Certification Requirements

This page contains the Health certificate which applies to all imports from non-EU countries as of 1 May 2004.

This certificate must be completed by a member of the Official Service for fish health matters in the country of origin of the consignment, or by their officially appointed representatives.

You will see that Sections 5, 6 and 7 of the certificate present a variety of certification options, which means that there are a very large number of scenarios for completing this document.

We have therefore produced alongside the full health certificate, a series of 5 models which illustrate a small range of certification options which could be produced for the export of various fish species to Great Britain. These model forms are designed to give an illustration of the new certification format and standards. We will consider producing further adaptations to these models in the light of the different import scenarios with which we are faced during the transitional period for the new system.

Example 2 - Live fish of aquaculture origin susceptible to VHS/IHN/BKD/GS

Example 4 - Live fish of aquaculture origin susceptible to SVC for farming
Example 5 - Live fish of aquaculture origin susceptible to SVC for farming, from a farm with a protected water source
